Michael Eshman
With a dual commitment to advocacy and resolution, Michael Eshman is a distinguished attorney at Eshman Begnaud, LLC, specializing in challenging personal injury and civil rights litigation, particularly under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Michael brings his extensive litigation experience in state and federal courts to his role as a mediator at Miles Mediation & Arbitration in Atlanta, skillfully guiding parties toward resolutions by agreement in a wide variety of cases and disputes — including personal injury, civil rights, insurance coverage, real property, and business disputes. His unique perspective and experience from both sides of the aisle ensures comprehensive and insightful service to his clients and mediation participants.
Michael is fluent in Spanish and of Hispanic heritage – the son of a Colombian mother and father from Wisconsin. His style as a mediator focuses on his three promises to all participants – active listening, honest feedback, and empowering the parties to exercise informed control over the outcome of their dispute. Attorneys who have mediated with Michael observe he “[offers] insight clearly based in experience” and does an excellent job connecting with their clients and making their clients feel comfortable with the process.
Michael is a “Double Dawg” graduate from the UGA School of Public and International Affairs and School of Law. He is a board member and current president of the Georgia Latino Law Foundation, an organization that intentionally supports, promotes, and empowers Latinx law students at all of Georgia’s law schools, a graduate of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association’s LEAD class of 2018-2019, and a graduate of Leadership Georgia Class of 2023 (Best Class Ever!). Michael, his wife, two kids, and crazy dog (Gloria Estefan) live in Druid Hills.
