The Evolution of Resolution: Bianca Motley Broom, Esq.
Bianca Motley Broom specializes in complex personal injury, premises liability, automobile, insurance coverage, and domestic disputes. She has an innate ability to connect with people. It is the single biggest quality that has driven her success thus far. This skill, along with her experience in the courtroom as both a trial attorney and a judge, allows her to bring a different perspective to the mediation and arbitration process.
“The ADR space has historically lacked diversity,” according to Motley Broom. “I’m fortunate to work in an environment at Miles where it is a given that we need to work to have top-notch neutrals who also better reflect the communities we serve. I’m proud to be part of the group at Miles that gives us that competitive edge and allows us to achieve optimal results for our clients.”

“Going through a mediation can be quite intimidating! I’m always aware of that for the people who are going through the process for the first time. I try to check in with them on a regular basis throughout the day. As proposals go back and forth, I get confirmation they understand and are comfortable with each step. I tend to see my friends and family in a lot of the plaintiffs who mediate their cases with us. I want them to be treated with the respect and dignity they deserve – and to get their opportunity to share their story. This may be the first time they’ve fully had the chance to talk about the impact the underlying incident has had on their lives. It’s incumbent on me as the neutral to give them an environment where they feel at ease to do so.”
