Rosemarie Durham
brings a diverse and broad spectrum of business and life experiences
to the Domestic Mediation process. She has been intricately involved
and responsible for the expansion of the Atlanta office of Miles Mediation
to its current locale along with the daily operations during the expansion
and to date. Ms. Durham has gained extensive mediation experience through
her participation in and observation of a wide range of civil disputes
including personal injury, automobile and trucking liability, contract
and tort disputes, construction, real estate, trust and estates and
environmental mediations/arbitrations while at Miles Mediation. Her
history of leadership in community and charitable activities involving
families and children made Domestic Mediation a logical choice. Ms.
Durham received her Domestic Mediation Training from Atlanta Divorce
Mediators in 2006 and has decided to pursue mediation on a full time
basis with Miles Mediation.
Ms Durham graduated
from St Mary’s College in Raleigh, NC and obtained a BA in Business
from UGA . Rosemarie successfully founded and operated a children’s
clothing store, The Little Clothier and personal shopping service which
also provided clothing for handicapped children from 1985 and sold the
business in 1990. Through the early 1990’s Ms. Durham was actively
involved with the Houston Ballet and was Volunteer Coordinator. She
also participated in the Art a la Carte Graduate Program from Rice University
which she later taught in local schools. Ms. Durham worked at a Women’s
Shelter in Houston teaching financial housekeeping and management to
women and their families.
Upon moving back
to the Atlanta area, Rosemarie become involved with the Festival of
Trees which is a major fund raiser for Children’s Health Care
of Atlanta Hospitals. She was Library Chair and an active fund raiser
at Jackson Elementary School here in Atlanta. Ms. Durham was member
of the Atlanta Ballet’s Parent’s Assoc and the Back Stage
Liaison for The Atlanta Ballet’s Annual Nutcracker performances
from 1997-2000. Ms. Durham has been a Board Member of a local school’s
Athletic Board as Concessions Chair from 2000 - 2005 and created an
After School Student run Concession Stand along with responsibilities
for all concessions for the schools Varsity, JV and Middle School growing
sports programs. She lives in Atlanta and has two children, Laura and
Stephen.
