Delius, Esq.
Scott earned a B.A. with Honors from the University of Tennessee at
Knoxville in 1991 and he earned his J.D. from the University of Memphis
in 1997. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia and Tennessee. As
a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution
his mediation work focuses on workers’ compensation and personal
injury cases.
Scott brings a strong
and varied civil litigation background to the mediation table. He was
an associate at Drew, Eckl and Farnham where he practiced workers’
compensation defense and subrogation litigation. Scott was also an associate
at Magill & Atkinson and also at Gray, Rust, St. Amand, Moffett
& Brieske, where he practiced liability insurance defense, focusing
on auto, trucking, products liability and premises liability cases.
Scott is now a principal
in the Delius Law Firm, P.C. where he represents claimants in workers’
compensation cases and plaintiffs in personal injury matters throughout
the State of Georgia. A large portion of his practice is devoted to
representing catastrophically injured workers and he has successfully
tried many personal injury jury trials to conclusion.
Mediating parties
also benefit from Scott’s military and life experiences. He is
a Captain in the Georgia Army National Guard, where he is a member of
the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan
in 2006 – 2007 to train the Afghan National Army and helped to
establish their military justice system. His achievements during military
service were recognized by several medals and ribbons; Scott was also
honored with the 2007 GTLA "Guardian of Justice Award" for
his humanitarian work with Afghan civilians
Scott and his wife,
Allyson, live in Atlanta and enjoy traveling, SEC football and devoting
time to charitable causes.
